Carolynne Moonie is a Scottish born artist who studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. Currently living in Yorkshire, Carolynne takes inspiration from travel, the local landscape, conversations, inter-spatial relationships, sculpture, sound and time.
“I am fascinated by the emotional aspect of colour and constantly strive to express the human condition in all aspects - including speech and how it affects us.”
Currently, I work mainly on paper in mixed media using acrylic, ink, conte and collage. I like to work where a variation in line and paint texture causes a dialogue and speaks to me.
Millie Farmer is an explorative and intuitive artist based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Through her energetic and vibrant abstract landscape paintings, she strives to capture the essence and energy of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the ever-changing landscapes and rugged terrain of her surroundings, Millie's work reflects her deep connection with nature and her desire to express its raw beauty. Her dynamic brushstrokes and use of colour evoke a sense of movement and emotion, inviting the viewer to embark on a journey of discovery. With each piece, Millie aims to create a visual experience that is both captivating and thought-provoking, encouraging viewers to explore their own relationship with the environment.
Jo Middelthon is a graduate of the Grays School of Art, Aberdeen. A key element of how her ideas become reality is through her artistic process and exploration and response to a wide variety of materials. “I was lucky enough to grow up in the Welsh Borders and have strong links to a remote and mountainous area of Western Norway. All these different landscapes have converged to form a sense of place that has overlaps both physically and emotionally. I am drawn to the familiar canvas of these natural environments with all the meanings, memories and emotions that they provoke. But there is more than a tinge of pain. I am very aware of sustainability and re-using materials and my work aims to highlight the fragility of our environment.”
